Watching The Change, 2025

Lino print numbered 1-5

I was in my local forest, off the beaten path in a small clearing canopied with large trees, when I heard a rustle and swoosh. I turned to see a large owl fly into the space. Seeing me, it paused in mid-flight and redirected to a branch near where it had entered. I slowly raised my camera and took a couple of photos. It watched me, seeming to say, “you’re in my space”. To me, this experience of my infringing on nature equated to the large-scale human infringement on nature and the ensuing change to the climate.
